WSS / SharePoint v3 Backups Hang on servers with the Windows Server 2003 DST patch applied.
There is speculation that come April 1st, the issue will resolve itself. If you cant wait, try changing the regional/time settings DST setting to NOT automatically adjust, reboot the server, and viola! Backups run as expected.
